Until now this legislation had not touched the cables world, but from 1st July 2017 according to the EN 50575 standard, it will be mandatory to obtain the Certificate of constancy of performance in order to allow the manufacturer to draw up the Declaration of Performance (DoP) and consequently to be able to affix the CE marking.
Referring to cables the European Commission has decided to consider the reaction and resistance to fire in the event of fire as relevant characteristics for the purpose of building safety.
The cables will be classified into 7 Fire Reaction classes: Aca, B1ca, B2ca, Cca, Dca, Eca, Fca identified by the subscript "ca" (cable) depending of their decreasing performance.
