The goal is to prepare insulating samples with the same thickness, indicated in the reference norm, to obtain a die cut sample using a puncher.
The insulating samples must be removed from the conductor, using a longitudinal cut following the inner layer of the axis.
The die cut samples will be used to determine the mechanical properties of the insulators and sheaths (determining the breaking and stretching point) and, when requested, the tests must be done after one or more accelerated aging treatments pursuant to the provisions for the single type of cable in question.
